Swedish chemist Joseph Black had isolated carbon dioxide in the year 1754 which he called ‘Fixed Air’. His next research on latent heat was related to Thermochemistry phase changes.

The main conclusion by Cavendish was hydrogen is an inflammable gas. He was the first chemist who invented hydrogen gas and studied various properties of hydrogen gas.
Later on, different types of gases were studied and observed by different chemists and some inventions among them was carl Scheele discovered oxygen in the year 1773, and his conclusion was this is a fiery gas.
