The drug addict person will spend his all money on alcohol and drug, which leads to poverty. It is said that 40% of Americans are homeless because of addiction. In America in some countries like Las Vegas, gambling is legal.
Addicted people become addicted to gambling easily and lose all their money. Nearly 50% of homeless citizens in America have some kind of mental illness, such as schizophrenia, depression, and bipolar disorder. All the above reasons are responsible for poverty in America.
Poverty affects children and adult both. The children who live in poor slum areas don’t have good educational facilities. They cannot purchase books and other stationary need for good academic life. The studies show that poor children easily become depressed. They may commit suicide or may beam thief and steal things they need.
Adult are under tremendous pressure due to poverty they have to manage the resources not only for themselves but also for their family. Poverty may lead to divorce. Because of divorces, parenting in America is even poor. Parents don’t give enough attention to a child’s education. This in turn increases poverty even more.
Solutions to Poverty in America
Poverty is a great sin but this sin can be prevented. America is a developed country. The rich people of America should do charity. Government should improve the standard of education.
Education should be free and compulsory. Rich people should donate books and other useful stuff to the poor free of cost. More government and private jobs should be created and good salaries should be given to people so they can satisfy their basic needs.
There should be banned on gambling, drugs, and alcohol. This will also help to reduce the crime rate and reduce the rate of poverty.
If we want to annihilate poverty we have to improve ourselves. Poverty is the mindset for some people who like to live lazy lifestyles we need to change this mindset. It is rightly said, “Be the change you want to see in the world”. Instead of blaming government policies poor should try to improve them as individuals.
It is a very common thing unless you try you will not succeed. For example, if government formulate different schemes and arrange necessary funds to eradicate poverty but if the poor himself does not try to become rich he will not become rich.
