As a student, we have to achieve a particular aim. Every student who is completing his bachelor’s degree knows the full form of UG. It is the tag every student wants to add to his educational qualification. UG stands for Undergraduate. This term is used for a person who is completing his bachelor’s degree.

Higher education is divided into two parts Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree. UG is the term used for Bachelor’s degree. For a Master’s degree, another term PG which means Postgraduate is used.

The period required to complete a UG degree varies according to the faculty. The degrees like B.A, B.com, BSc, B.C.A, L.L.B B.B.A, etc. require three years to complete. In the field of education, the B.Ed. the degree takes two years to complete

Generally, students enroll in UG courses only after completing their Higher Secondary Certificate Exam (HSC exam). In engineering, field students are directly enrolled in the second year of engineering degree after completing a three-year diploma in engineering.

In order to get admission in UG courses Engineering, you must have a very good score in JEE exams in the same way to get admission in UG courses of Medical you must have a very good score in the NEET exam. Some colleges do not take any common Entrance exam they give admission to students only because of 12th marks. All UG courses in India have a semester pattern having mostly 2 semesters per year.

Almost all competitive exams in India prescribe the minimum educational qualification to give an exam is completing a UG course. This shows the importance of the UG course. Indian higher education system is the third-largest education system in the world the other two being the United States and China.
